Marialyse Knobel, 84, formerly of North Platte, departed this earth on May 20, 2013.
She was born on Oct. 19, 1927, to Ernest and Alice Hager in Fairbury. She graduated from Fairbury High School.
She was married to John R. Knobel on May 31, 1947, in Fairbury. Marialyse moved to North Platte in 1949 with her husband and first child.
She was a member of the Episcopal Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Marialyse chaired many committees during her lifetime in North Platte – the Cancer Society, the Heart Association, the Diabetes Association, lifetime member of the PTA and was active in the Democratic Party. Marialyse served as a Justice of the Peace in Lincoln County. Marialyse lived in North Platte for 63 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; and son, Mark.
She is survived by three brothers, Calvin Hager, of New Mexico, Warren Hager, of Nevada and Tom Hager, of Arizona; one sister, Dorothy McDonald, of Kansas; three daughters, Jane (Richard) Flower, of Salt Lake City, Utah, Diann Knobel (David Fairey), of Las Vegas, Nev., Mary Lou (Jon) Altig, of North Platte; two sons, Bryan (Marcia) Knobel, of Vancouver, Wash., and Tom (Shelley) Knobel, of Lexington; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be on Oct. 21, at the Episcopal Church of our Savior. Burial will follow at Fort McPherson National Cemetery.
