Yvonne Marie Richards, 76, of Broken Bow, passed away at her home on May 31, 2013.
She was born at Pleasant Township of Cass County, Iowa, to Albert and Emma Rudig. She graduated from high school on May 13, 1955, at Griswold, Iowa.
On May 12, 1955, she married Earl Edward Richards at Council Bluffs, Iowa. While living in Iowa, she worked at her brother Richard Rudigs’ cafe. She also worked at a hardware store, grocery store and at the school.
In November 1979 Earl, Yvonne and son, Max, moved to Thedford, where they lived on a ranch. She worked several places including as cook at the school. She enjoyed the school kids. Her yard was always in tip-top shape and decorated for every season and holiday. She loved Nebraska football and did a lot of coaching at the TV set. After her husband passed away she moved to Broken Bow, where she lived in an apartment. She made many great friends and had a lot of fun.
Surviving her are her children, Linda (Tim) Stattler, Susan (Jeff) Davis, Mike (Colleen) Richards, Max (Christy) Richards; her sister, Anna Mae Courcer; two brothers, Dennis and Stanley; 11 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in her passing by her husband, Earl; her brothers, Richard, Dale and Albert Jr.; and her faithful dog, Pugs.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital .
Services will be at 1 p.m., Friday, June 7, at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Thedford with the Revs. Linda Martin and Steve Shanno officiating. Arnold and Mullen Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.
