Memorial Park Parade Restrictions in Place for the Second Year

paradeViewers for the 50th NEBRASKAland DAYS Parade will once again be asked not to stake out their positions in Memorial Park until Friday, June 14th at noon.

This is the second year that NEBRASKAland DAYS and the City of North Platte have asked for the public’s cooperation on this policy.

“It basically allows our City to keep Memorial Park well maintained up until we invade it on Friday for the antique car parade,” said NEBRASKAland DAYS Executive Director David Fudge. “It’s tough to mow around stakes and string. And we want the park looking its best for this year’s parade.”

This year’s parade marks the 50th running of the event, which was first held in Downtown Lincoln in 1964, one year before the first NEBRASKAland DAYS. NEBRASKAland DAYS on Parade will serve as the official kick off to a year’s worth of preparation for the 50th annual NEBRASKAland DAYS, scheduled for June 18th-28th 2014.

This year’s Parade has around 140 entries.

It will kick off on Saturday afternoon at 1 pm from the corner of 4th and Bryan, proceeding West on 4th to Jeffers and then running North on Jeffers to 12th Street.
