Glen Rosentrater, 82, passed away peacefully June 12, 2013, surrounded by family and friends, at the Callaway Hospital.
He was born March 15, 1931, in Arnold. Glen was a loving husband, dad and grandpa and great-grandpa who loved his family. Glen graduated from Arnold High School, and met his wife, Ruth Woodward, while on a double date with his brother Paul, and later wife, Nola Leach, also from Callaway. Throughout their nearly 60 years of marriage, Glen and Ruth lived south of Arnold on the farm, except for two years while Glen was in the U.S. Army.
Glen enjoyed a challenging career of farming, his involvement as an elder at the Tallin Church, showing hospitality to visiting missionary families and home Bible studies. In the mid 1980’s Glen began driving the school bus for the Arnold School District and continued for 25 years.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Agnes Rosentrater; and his sister-in-law, Nola Rosentrater.
Glen is survived by his loving wife, Ruth; his brother, Paul; and he leaves behind the legacy of his three children, daughter, Sandra (Rob) Mandeville, sons, Craig (Jo), and John (Jerolyn); as well as five grandchildren, Ryan (Kari) Grigg, Lucas Rosentrater, Amy (Joe) Buehler, Claire and Alexander Rosentrater; and five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Tallin Church Missionary Fund, c/o Tallin Church, 41140 Road 788, Arnold, NE 69120.
Services will be at 10 a.m., Monday, June 17, at Tallin Church, south of Arnold on Highway 40, with Pastor Gene Purcell officiating. Burial will follow at the Arnold Cemetery. Military honors will be at the cemetery by the American Legion Post No. 130 and VFW Post No. 6157. Visitation is from 2-7 p.m., Sunday, June 16, with the family present to meet the public from 5-7 p.m., at the Arnold Funeral Home, which is in charge of the arrangements.
