(AP) — The Lincoln City Council on Monday has approved the city’s first entertainment district.
It will be situated across the street from the new Pinnacle Bank Arena in the West Haymarket area.
Officials say it is modeled after the Power & Light District in Kansas City, Mo., and likely will begin operation in September or October.
The new district’s outdoor portion will include the courtyard for the Railyard development on the east side of Canopy Street and an interior courtyard between the Canopy Street Lofts and a small hotel being built on the west side of Canopy Street.
The district will be managed by Railyard Promotional Associates LLC.
