(AP) — Someone who bought a Mega Millons lottery ticket in the Nebraska Panhandle town of Kimball has won $1 million.
Nebraska Lottery spokesman Neil Watson said no one had stepped forward yet on Friday.
The ticket was bought on Sunday at Vince’s Corner gas station for Tuesday night’s drawing. It matched five of the six numbers for a $250,000 payout, but the buyer also bought a multiplier, so the prize was quadrupled to $1 million.
Store owner Henry Heeg told the Scottsbluff Star-Herald that he hopes the buyer lives locally, “so the money stays here in the Panhandle.”
Watson says the winner has 180 days to turn in the ticket at the Nebraska Lottery offices in Lincoln.
