(AP) — One person is dead following a fiery rollover crash on U.S. Highway 34 in southeast Nebraska.
Firefighters from Bradshaw were sent to what was reported as a cornfield fire after 12 a.m. Saturday.
Bradshaw Fire Chief Todd Hellerich says another motorist who stopped to investigate the blaze soon realized it was a vehicle on fire.
Hellerich says firefighters found the vehicle fully engulfed in flames by the time they arrived and that the driver was still inside.
Officials are working to identify the driver. Hellerich says the crash and fire so badly damaged the vehicle that authorities don’t yet know what type it is.
