Nebraska Secretary of State John Gale is kicking off a four-city tour as part of his 2014 re-election bid.
Gale is holding announcement events Tuesday in Lincoln, Grand Island and North Platte, and Wednesday in Scottsbluff.
Gale, a Republican, has served as Nebraska’s Secretary of State since 2000, when he was appointed by then-Gov. Mike Johanns. He was elected to three additional terms.
The 72-year-old Gale practiced law in North Platte for 29 years before he was appointed to office. He also worked as a legislative assistant to former U.S. Sen. Roman Hruska of Nebraska, and as an assistant U.S. attorney in Omaha and Lincoln.
He and his wife, Carol, have three children.
