The North Platte First Nationals American Legion team won the North Platte Junior Senior Tournament on Sunday.

The First Nationals beat Davenport Edgar 8-5 to seal the tournament win. North Platte went 4-0 in the four-day tournament, including two wins over Davenport Edgar and wins over Overton and Cambridge.

In the final game on Sunday the First Nationals trailed 5-3 going in to the sixth inning when they put six runs on the board. Riley Vierya pitched the final three innings and earned the win when he shut the door in the top of the seventh inning. At the plate Ben Sukraw went 2-4 with a double and three RBI’s to lead North Platte.
