(AP) — Firefighters have controlled a stubborn blaze at the Sarpy County landfill southwest of Omaha.

The fire took nearly nine hours to control by 1:30 a.m. Monday. Firefighters from at least five departments battled the blaze.

No injuries have been reported. The cause is being investigated.

The landfill sits about a mile northwest of Springfield in southern Sarpy County.
