(AP) — A Lincoln man has sued the estate of the man who shot him during a dispute over a dog.
29-year-old Isaac Durr is seeking more than $52,000 from the estate of Scott Brus. The lawsuit was filed last week.
Police said in July last year that Brus and Durr had been arguing about Durr’s dog defecating in Brus’ yard and about the dog’s barking. Police said Brus shot Durr in an arm, leg, hand and the stomach and then drove away. Police chased Brus until his vehicle hit a pole and stopped. Officers say Brus then shot himself before they could reach him.
The lawsuit says Durr is seeking compensation for his medical costs and for his pain and suffering.
