DENVER (AP) — The Rockies open the second half of the season hosting the Chicago Cubs at Coors Field on Friday.
On Sunday before the All-Star break, the Rockies defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-1.
The clubs split their four-game series, leaving Colorado with a 46-50 record. The Rockies are in third place in the NL West, 4 1/2 games back of first-place Arizona.
The Rockies’ 426 runs scored are the most since 2010, when they had 430 in the first half.
Colorado’s 879 hits are the most since 2003, when they had 901 before the break.
