(AP) — A weekend crash on Interstate 80 sent a semi rolling into a Nebraska high school soccer field.
The semi rear-ended a camper that was being pulled by a 2004 Ford Expedition, about two miles east of Waverly around 2 a.m. Sunday. The crash caused the semi to veer off the road, sending it into a ditch and a fence before it came to a stop on Waverly High School’s soccer field.
Nebraska State Patrol spokeswoman Deb Collins says the impact of the semi destroyed the camper and caused the Expedition to roll. FIve people in the SUV were treated for minor injuries and released.
The semi driver was not injured.
