(AP) — A police cruiser in Omaha was rear-ended on Interstate 80, and a second crash was reported minutes later because of the resulting traffic backup.
The crash happened around 11:30 a.m. Monday. The officer suffered minor injuries, and his K-9 partner appeared to be unharmed.
The driver who struck the police cruiser was taken to a hospital in serious condition.
The crash blocked three lanes on the interstate. A second accident was reported less than 15 minutes later, not far from the original crash.
All lanes of the interstate have since reopened.
