(AP) — A Nebraska group is working to build a permanent home in Lincoln for homeless veterans.
The group Operation Veterans Encouraging Recovery held a fundraiser at the Havelock United Methodist Church on Sunday.
The group is working on a house in south Lincoln that was donated in the spring. It will serve as a permanent home for up to four veterans.
The fundraiser drew about 150 people. Another event is set for Oct. 6 at the Crooked Creek Golf Club in Lincoln. Organizers say registration is open through Sept. 22.
