Jeanette Louise Hinton, 82, of North Platte, NE, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte.
Jeanette was born October 7, 1930, at LaPorte, IN to Orel Warner and Mabel Irene Whittaker Fair. She grew up in South Bend, IN and graduated from Riley High School in 1949.
On September 10, 1949, Jeanette married Blake Elson Hinton in South Bend where they made their home. They moved to Naples, FL in 1965 where they owned Dog-N-Suds and worked together. In 1982 they moved to North Platte and leased the Airport Inn until they retired from there in 1991.
Jeanette was a member of the First Baptist Church. She and Blake enjoyed traveling. They traveled through Europe, Texas, Alaska and all the lower 48 states. Jeanette loved to cook, sew and quilt. She was also a very good accordion player and did a lot of volunteer work. Jeanette had a very strong faith and it was a big part of her life.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Blake, of North Platte; three daughters, Dianne (Clark) Laier, of Eustis, NE, Kathleen (Calvin) Miller, of Omaha, NE, and Becky (Mohamed) Aboushady, of Cozad, NE; two sons, David (Becky) Hinton, of Barr Nunn, WY, and Randy (Jean) Hinton, of Lincoln, NE; 10 grandchildren, Andrea (Dan), Andy, Patrick (Kandi), Cody (Kim), Callie (Brent), Janina, Justin, Cassidy, Alex and Ryan; nine great-grandchildren; a great great-granddaughter; two nieces; a nephew; and other family.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, Orel and Mabel Fair; and her sister, Phyllis Dalke.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 3, 2013, at the First Baptist Church with Pastor David Logsdon officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Odean Colonial Chapel At C & Sycamore. Condolences may also be shared at odeanchapel.com.
