(AP) — Boy Scouts officials say a 14-year-old boy from Cedar Hills who died at a camp in central Utah was run over by a trailer.

Boy Scouts officials say the teenager was out picking up trash around the camp Tuesday night when he slipped and fell underneath the tires of a trailer being pulled by a truck.

Utah National Parks Council Scout Executive David Pack says the trailer was carrying the garbage.

The teen’s name has not been released.

About 400 to 500 Boy Scouts are at the weeklong camp at Tifie Scout Camp at Mountain Dell Scout Ranch. The Boy Scouts’ Utah National Parks Council Scout Executive David Pack says the camp will continue despite the death.

Pack says the teen was a counselor-in-training.

Menifee police Chief John Hill said at a news conference Wednesday afternoon that a human body that matched the description of Terry Dewayne Smith Jr. was found partially exposed in a shallow grave on the family property.

Hill says the death was the result of a domestic issue at the house.

The body has not yet been positively identified.

Terry has been missing from his Menifee, Calif., home since Saturday, and hundreds of volunteers have helped search for him.

(AP) — Authorities say two people have been injured in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 80 near Omaha.

The Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office says the single-vehicle accident happened Wednesday afternoon on the westbound lanes of Interstate 80 near 144th Street. The Harley-Davidson motorcycle was carrying a male driver and a female passenger.

Witnesses reported that the motorcycle lost control and went on its side before it struck the median barricade in the far left lane.

The driver and passenger were taken to a local hospital in critical condition. They were both wearing helmets.

Authorities have not released their names.

(AP) — For the first time, lawyers for Colorado theater shooting suspect James Holmes say he killed 12 people and wounded dozens more at an Aurora movie theater last summer.

But Holmes’ lawyers say he was “in the throes of a psychotic episode” at the time.

The admission came in a motion filed Tuesday, but made public Wednesday. His lawyers were trying to argue that Holmes should be unrestrained during his upcoming trial.

Holmes has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to more than 160 counts, including murder, stemming from the July 20 theater attack in Aurora. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.

(AP) — A Wyoming man who was granted another trial by the Nebraska Supreme Court has been convicted again.

Online court records say 53-year-old Thomas Merchant, of Cheyenne, Wyo., was found guilty Tuesday by a Lancaster County District Court jury. The charge: Unlawful sale or purchase of a vehicle. Investigators say he posed as a dealer in June 2011 to buy 19 vehicles.

In March the state’s highest court said testimony by the director of Nebraska’s Motor Vehicle Industry Licensing Board effectively “instructed the jury on how to make its decision of Merchant’s guilt.” The high court said that power is restricted to the trial court judge.

Merchant, who was given 12 to 30 years in prison after his conviction last year, is scheduled to be sentenced again on Sept. 25.

(AP) — An original Apple computer from 1976 has sold at auction for nearly $388,000.

Known as the Apple 1, it was one of the first Apple computers ever built.

It sold Monday for $387,750 at a Christie’s online-only auction. The auction house did not disclose the name of the buyer. The seller was a retired school psychologist from Sacramento, Calif.

Vintage Apple products have become a hot item since Steve Jobs’ death in October 2011. Jobs joined forces with Steve Wozniak to build computer prototypes in a California garage, and Wozniak built the Apple 1.

Another Apple 1 was sold in May for a record $671,400 by a German auction house. It broke a record of $640,000 set in November.
