Zelda Elaine Current, 75, passed away on July 31, 2013 at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital in Cambridge, NE.

Elaine was born on November 15, 1937 to Ted and Christina (Herman) Current in Stockville, NE.

She graduated from Stockville High School in 1955. She attended McCook Community College and Peru State College, she graduated with a Master’s degree in Education. After teaching grade school for 29 years, Elaine went back to college for her Massage Therapy License. She worked as a massage therapist for 15 years in McCook.

She loved spending time with family and friends.

Elaine is survived by her brother Leonard (Diane) Current of Hershey, NE; sister Arlene Sass of Stockville, NE; nephews, J (Connie) Herrick of Ft. Lupton, CO; and Wylie Current of Sutherland, NE; Terence (Katie) Herrick, children Reagan and Liam of Bellevue, NE; and Chris (Lynn) Herrick children Savannah and Colten of Seale, AL; niece Teresa Farrer children Maddox and Katie of Ft. Lupton, CO; along with many extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, nephew Steve Herrick, nieces Katie Jo Herrick, and Zalia Mae Herrick.

Visitation will be on Sunday, August 4, 2013, from 2:00 to 8:00 pm at Blase-Wetzel-Strauser Memorial Chapel, 315 Center Ave., Curtis, NE 69025.

Funeral services will be on Monday, August 5, 2013, 10:30 am at the Congregational Church in Stockville, NE; with Mike Searcey officiating.

Internment will take place at the Arbor Cemetery in Stockville, NE.
