
(AP) — Gov. Dave Heineman and First Lady Sally Ganem are planning an open house to celebrate the 56th anniversary of the Nebraska governor’s residence.
The event set for Friday and Saturday will feature a special dog adoption hosted by the first dog of Nebraska, Snickers. Other activities include tours of the land and garden and talks on the residence art collection and the inaugural dolls collection. Ganem will also speak.
The residence will be open Friday, with public tours from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The dog adoption will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, and tours will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
