Lela Jean “Jeannie” Collier, 49, of North Platte, NE, died Friday, August 9, 2013, at home surrounded by her family and friends.
Jeannie was born June 28, 1964, at Bakersfield, CA to Frances Almetia Collier. She grew up in Texas, Oklahoma and Nebraska. The family moved to North Platte in 1979 where Jeannie graduated from North Platte High School in 1984. She was married to Billy Cox, Bill Lloyd and Dennis James Otten.
Jeannie attended Harvest Christian Fellowship. She loved Applebee’s, dancing, karaoke and her dog, Suzyque Angel. Jeannie had a beautiful smile and was kind to people.
Survivors include her children, Dakota, of Curtis, NE, LaToyah Rochester, of Colorado and Cheyenne “Tena” Otten Corter, of North Platte; her sister, Rhonda Johnson, and special friends, Amy Corter, Marilyn Ehmen and Charlotte Deardorff, all of North Platte; two nephews; and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Collier.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at the Harvest Christian Fellowship. Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery at Sutherland. Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Odean Colonial Chapel At C & Sycamore. Condolences may also be shared at odeanchapel.com. Memorials are suggested to Tena’s College Fund.
