Deputies Arrest Two After Beatrice Bank Robbery

gage-county-sheriffAuthorities have arrested two men in connection with a bank robbery in Beatrice.

The robbery occurred Friday morning at a Pinnacle Bank branch when two men slipped a teller a note demanding money.

According to witnesses, no weapons were ever displayed.

The suspects then left the bank, and about a half hour later Gage County deputies spotted the van they believed the suspects were drivingĀ on U.S. Highway 77.

Gage County Chief Deputy Sheriff Doug Klaus says deputies from Gage, Saline and Lancaster counties as well as Nebraska State Patrol troopers were involved in stopping the van.

They arrested 31-year-old Lucius L. Turner and 35-year-old Gilbert W. McCabe.

Authorities say charges are pending. It’s not clear whether the men have attorneys.
