(AP) — Grand Island firefighters rescued a woman who injured herself while jumping onto a downtown building’s roof, and officers then gave her a citation.
22-year-old Alyssa Stark, of Grand Island, broke her leg early Friday after climbing a fire escape ladder with a man and then leaping from one part of a roof to another lower roof.
Firefighters used a ladder truck with a bucket attached to lower Stark to the ground on a backboard.
Police Capt. Dean Elliott says Stark was charged with trespassing and obstructing a police officer. Both charges are misdemeanors.
The man who also climbed the ladder was cited for trespassing.
