(AP) — An apartment fire in the eastern Nebraska city of Columbus this week sent one woman to the hospital.

The fire occurred Wednesday and extensively damaged the building.

Rescue workers took a woman who lived in one of the building’s eight apartments to Columbus Community Hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.

The Nebraska State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
