(AP) — A 20-year-old man has been given 10 to 16 years in prison for burglary and another conviction stemming from theft and destruction at a middle school in Lincoln.
Online court records say Bruce Grandel had pleaded no contest to burglary and aiding and abetting possession of a firearm. Prosecutors had lowered the weapons charge and dropped another one in exchange for Grandel’s pleas. He was sentenced Wednesday in Lancaster County District Court.
Prosecutors say Grandel and others broke into Dawes Middle School on Dec. 20 and smashed computer monitors, pulled down wall clocks and fired gunshots at a school window. Two computers and a projector were stolen.
