(AP) — An October sentencing has been scheduled for a southeast Nebraska dog breeder convicted of neglecting her animals.
Authorities say they found 62 adult dogs and 13 puppies at the breeder’s kennels in Malcolm in January. The dog cages were filthy, fouled by feces and urine. Water for dogs outside had frozen.
Court records say the operation’s owner, 61-year-old Julie Hudson, on Thursday pleaded no contest to misdemeanor cruel neglect. Her sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 25.
