Scottsbluff Man Pleads Guilty in Dog’s Death

gavel-moreSCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (AP) — A Scottsbluff man has pleaded guilty to charges in connection with the death of a dog he threw against a wall.

KNEB radio reports (http://bit.ly/18d0B1z ) 29-year-old Richard Mackin was arrested Wednesday night after officers responded to a domestic disturbance report.

Court documents say Mackin threw the dog against a wall, breaking its neck after becoming upset around his girlfriend’s children.

During Mackin’s first appearance Friday in Scotts Bluff County Court, he entered guilty pleas to third-degree domestic assault and cruelty to animals. Both are misdemeanors.

Sentencing is set for Dec. 4.
