Dustin Reed McEntire, 30, of North Platte, passed away October 6, 2013 at his home. He was born October 12, 1982 in North Platte to Ricky and Debra Campbell McEntire. Dustin attended North Platte High School. He worked at Valentino’s and other various jobs. On July 16, 2007 he was involved in a car accident which left him paralyzed. He overcame many obstacles after the accident, rehabilitating, with the help of Quality Living Incorporated, to the point of being independent and being able to return home to North Platte. He was an inspiration to many people who watched him come back from his injuries. He loved online gaming, music, and eating tacos! Everyone will remember his goofy smile.
Survivors include his son, Jeremiah of North Platte; mom, Debra (Skeeter Theisen) McEntire of Thornton, CO; father, Rick McEntire of North Platte; two brothers, Jordan (Amber) McEntire and Jared McEntire all of North Platte; maternal grandparents, Bob and Mary Campbell of North Platte; step-grandfather, Jim Ripka of Fort Lupton, CO; nieces, Seinna and McKenna McEntire of North Platte; nephew, Dein McEntire of North Platte; special aunt Kathy Sprague of North Platte; and several other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by both paternal grandparents, Florence and Coyton McEntire; maternal grandmother, Thelma Ripka; cousins, Cydney and Michelle Diaz; and two uncles, Lloyd Hubbard and Steve Campbell.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 11, 2013 at Harvest Christian Fellowship with burial to follow at Riverview Cemetery near Sutherland. The casket will be closed and those wishing to sign the register book may do so from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. today and Thursday with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
