A girl sought by Lincoln Police for her involvement in a stabbing at Lincoln Pius X High School has been found in Kansas and is in custody.

Kansas authorities located 16-year-old Sarah Piccolo in Washington County after she had car trouble.

Piccolo is suspected of stabbing 17-year-old Ellen Kopetzky in the bathroom at the school.

Lincoln Police say Kopetzky went to use the bathroom when Piccolo attacked her with a knife and a hammer.  Kopetzky told police Piccolo didn’t say anything as she wildy swung the knife and hammer at her.  Eventually, an employee at the school heard Kopetzky’s screams and came to her rescue.  Picollo fled the scene.

Later, Police say they found an 8-inch hunting knife and a hammer in the bathroom.

Kopetzky was treated for injuries to her head, mouth, chin and hands.  None of the injuries were life-threatening.

Piccolo has been charged as an adult with 1st degree assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
