Mary N. Trujillo, age 92, of North Platte, died November 8, 2013 at Centennial Park Retirement Village. Mary was born on September 15, 1921 in Ventanas, NM to Leopoldo “Leo” and Jenny (Trujillo) Naranjo.
Mary grew up in Trujillo, NM where she met Mac Trujillo. The couple was married there and continued to live there on the family ranch. The couple later moved around New Mexico and Texas before settling in Cheyenne where Mac hired on with UPRR. They followed the railroad to North Platte in 1949 where they raised their family. They enjoyed traveling, camping and fishing together. Mary worked at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in the housecleaning department for many years.
Mary was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, loved to play bingo and gambling, do embroidery and crocheting, making wax flowers, and traveling, especially back to New Mexico.
Survivors include 9 children, Julie (Fred) Vieyra of North Platte, Mac (Carolyn Sue) Trujillo Jr. of North Platte, Roy (Marsha) Trujillo of Grand Island, Eugene (Natalie) Trujillo of North Platte, Pat Quintrell (Mark Sproule) of Pueblo, CO, Rose (Fred) Wilson of Omaha, George (Sandy) Trujillo of Gothenburg, Annie (Sam) Acosta of Pueblo, CO, and Rita May Trujillo of North Platte; 4 sisters, Delores Trujillo of Loveland, CO, Bessie (Ernie) Duran of Perryton, TX, Eva (Trinky) Yara of Perryton, TX, and Pauline Duran of Cheyenne, WY; 4 brothers, Frank (Bertha) Naranjo of North Platte, Leo (Erna) Naranjo Jr. of Trujillo, NM, Adolfo (Cidella) Naranjo of Cheyenne, WY, and Nasario Naranjo of Tucumcari, NM; grandchildren, Lorrie Vieyra, Mac Trujillo III, Brad (Shannon) Stover, Wendy Stover, Jeremy “J.J.” (Kim) Stover, Rochelle (Doug) Whiles, Stacy (Joel) Zuerlein, Amy Trujillo, Gene Trujillo Jr., Jeremy Trujillo, Jessica Trujillo, Phoebae Bundy, Fred (Stacy) Wilson Jr., Matthew Wilson, Victoria Urban, Benjamin (Erica)Trujillo, Orlando (Lalonnie)Trujillo, and Ryan Magana; numerous great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Mac on May 1, 1984; 2 grandsons Louis Eric Vieyra, and Larry Magana; and several brothers and sisters Stella and Beatrice. Christian Wake Services will be 7:00 p.m. Wednesday November 13, 2013 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday November 14, 2013 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with the Rev.’s James Golka and Neal Hock as celebrants. Burial will be at the North Platte Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday – Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
