(AP) — The Homestead National Monument in southeast Nebraska has scheduled a winter festival that focuses on ethnic traditions.
The Winter Festival of Prairie Cultures is scheduled to run from Nov. 29 through Dec. 31. It will feature the winter traditions of people who lived on the Great Plains during the homesteading era. Cultures represented include Czech, French, German, Hispanic, Irish, Jewish, Polish, Scottish, Swedish, and Welsh.
Homestead National Monument of America is a unit of the National Park Service. The monument is situated four miles west of Beatrice, on Nebraska Highway 4.
