A North Platte man is facing a felony charge after he allegedly asked a teen if she wanted to have sex.

According to Officer Rodney Brown, police received a complaint at around 10:45 a.m., Wednesday, stating that 35-year-old Daniel Smith had enticed a 15-year-old female.

The girl told police she had received a text message from Smith asking if she wanted to have sex.

Officers made contact with Smith and, following further investigation, determined there was probable cause to arrest him.

He was charged with electronic child enticement, a class IV felony.

Smith is being held without bond at the Lincoln County Detention Center.
