
A North Platte man has been charged with a felony after he allegedly jacked a duffel bag from a pickup parked at a local convenience store.
According to NPPD Public Information Officer, Rodney Brown, police responded to the Casey’s General Store on Rodeo Road on the report of a theft.
The victim reported that someone had stolen a duffel bag out of the back of his pickup. He stated that the bag contained a laptop, Kindle, iPad and other personal items.
The victim told officers the bag was heisted as he was in the store for a short period of time.
After viewing surveillance video, police identified the suspect as 25-year-old Ronald Ware.
Officers later contacted Ware in the 2000 block of Burlington, where they recovered the property.
Ware was arrested and charged with felony theft by unlawful taking. The charge is a felony due to the value of the stolen items.
Ware was transported to the Lincoln County Detention Center where he is being held on $25,000 bond.
