WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) — A Waterloo man has been arrested in Lincoln, Neb., and charged with first-degree murder.

Police say 23-year-old Perquondis Lequay Holmes had been sought in connection with a shooting on Nov. 14 in Waterloo after witnesses say he fired shots and fled the scene. In that incident 18-year-old Daequan Oshae Campbell was found shot in the chest and hip. He later died.

Police Capt. Tim Pillack says in a statement released Wednesday that police received a tip through the Cedar Valley Crime Stoppers that helped them track Holmes to Nebraska. He was arrested on Wednesday by members of the U.S. Marshals Metro Fugitive Task Force.

Pillack says Holmes is charged with murder and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

He is in the Lancaster County Jail in Lincoln on $2 million bond.
