OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — A 30-year-old Iowa man has died more than a week after rescue crews found his crashed truck in eastern Nebraska.
William “Willie” Anderson, of Grimes, Iowa, died Monday at an Omaha hospital from injuries he received in a crash earlier this month.
Rescue workers found the married father of two inside pickup that was on its side in a field along a Washington County road just after midnight on Dec. 7.
An investigation showed the truck went off the road, down an embankment and hit a power pole before rolling. Sheriff Kevin Willis says the pickup’s engine and exhaust were cold to the touch, leading authorities to believe it had been in the field some time before being discovered.
