North Platte 57 No. 10 Lincoln North Star 56
The Bulldogs (2-3) snap a three-game losing streak with a big 57-56 win over No. 10 Lincoln North Star. Kade Erickson shot a 40-footer with no time left and got fouled when the Dawgs trailed 56-55. Erickson missed the first free thrown then coolly knocked down the next two to seal the win. Drew Callaghan led North Platte with a game-high 29 points and Shane Mauch finished with 17.

Girls Basketball
North Platte 73 Lincoln North Star 47
The Lady Bulldogs (4-1) only led by one at the half, 30-29, but dominated in the second half en route to the win over the Lady Navigators. Kaitlynn Harvey continued her hot shooting by leading North Platte with a game-high 22 points. Harvey is now averaging over 20 points during the last three games. Allison Sawyer was also in double-figures with 16 points and Jessy Hunt scored 13 off the bench.

Boys Basketball
No. 4 St. Pat’s 49 Gothenburg 46
The Irish trailed by six at halftime but came back to earn the win. Mark Mayfield led all scorers with 17 points for St. Pat’s and Bryce Byrn added 11 for the Irish. Tanner Borchardt led Gothenburg with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Girls Basketball
No. 2 St. Pat’s 54 Gothenburg 39
The Lady Irish led throughout as they beat the Lady Swedes. Anna O’Malley led all scorers with 23 points for St. Pat’s. Two other Irishwomen scored in double-figures, Brittany Lawrence had 11 and Bree Saner scored 10. Emily Franzen led Gothenburg with 12 points.
No. 10 Sutherland 56 Wallace 27
The Lady Sailors improved to 5-1 with a big win over the Lady Wildcats. Jalyne Schuster and Sam Staggs each scored 15 points to lead Sutherland.
Tuesday, December 17

No. 4 St. Pat’s 65 Ogallala 34
Mark Mayfield scored 17 points to lead the Irish over the Indians. Alex Harms added 15 and Andrew O’Neill scored 13 for St. Pat’s in the win.
Girls Basketball
No. 2 St. Pat’s 61 Ogallala 34
No. 10 Sutherland 58 Chase County 35
Jalyne Schuster continued her great season with 23 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals to lead the Lady Sailors over the Lady Longhorns. Morgan Simpson and Kaley Stokey also scored in double-figures with 13 and 10 points respectively.
