George Walter Wolcott, age 79, of Torrington, WY, formerly of North Platte, passed away January 7, 2014 at Community Hospital in Torrington.
George was born on January 8, 1934 in North Platte, NE to Floyd E. and Grace (Bartrop) Wolcott. George entered into the U.S. Air Force where he made it his career. He retired from the Air Force on April 1, 1973. After his retirement, George worked as a Caretaker, Housekeeping Supervisor, and CNA in Washington State. On September 12, 1995, George married Nancy LeCornu in Casper, WY. George enjoyed watching the History Channel and sports, most especially the Cornhuskers.
George is survived by his wife Nancy of Torrington; children, Irene (Ron) Stebbins, George Michael (Toni) Wolcott, and Diana Pena all of Sacramento, CA; step children, Chester Becker Jr. of Yankton, SD, and Elizabeth Radomski of Hutchinson, KS; brother Lyle Wolcott of North Platte; sister, Gertrude Lewis of North Platte; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Albert; and two sisters, Rose, and Leona.
A memorial has been established in his memory and online condolences may be shared at www.adamsswanson.com. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday January 13, 2014 at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home with Dixon Powers officiating. Burial will follow at North Platte Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be Sunday January 12, 2014 noon until 6:00 p.m. and Monday 9:00 a.m. until service time at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
