Hubert M. Fox was born November 18, 1927 in Reddinton, IN to Benjamin H. and Nellie (Davis) Fox. After growing up on the family farm he graduated from Seymour High School in 1945 in Seymour, IN.
He Joined the U.S. Army March 6, 1946. After serving in occupied Japan, with two months in General MacArthur’s honor guard in Tokyo, he was honorably discharged September 23, 1947 as a Corporal.
October 11, 1952 he married Doris E. Kelley, also of Reddington.
After driving his own truck for many years he was employed by Consolidated Freightways in June 1965 and moved to Woodridge, IL. In 1971 he was transferred to North Platte, NE, and in 1980 to Lincoln, NE where he retired in November 1993.
Hubert enjoyed deer hunting with family and friends, model trains, traveling, and spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years; children, Brenda G. Robinson, Michael K. Fox (Peggy), Christine E. Nelson (Robert) and Candice D. Fox-Martinez (Tracy), all of North Platte, NE; brother, John M. Fox (Lucille) of Reddington, IN; sister-in-law, Marilyn Glasson (Jim) of Reddington, IN and Lake Placid, FL; grandchildren, Jennifer Robinson, Tyler Robinson (Emily), Brad Robinson, Colby Robinson, Travis Fox (Jennifer), Matthew Fox (Shawna), Benjamin Pease (Patty), Kelley Enriquez, Jacqueline Tabke (Chanse), Vanessa Martinez, and Talia Martinez; 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, Glenn and Helen (Montgomery) Kelley, sisters, Josephine Townsend, Marjorie Fox and Dorothy Wallace; brothers, Edwin Fox and Eugene Fox; sister-in-law, Joyce Montgomery (Robert); son-in-law, Calvin Robinson; grandson, Mark Pease.
Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m. Saturday 1/18/14 at Capitol City Christian Church, 7800 Holdrege St, Lincoln.
Visitation: 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday 1/17/14 with family present during this time, Metcalf Funeral Home, 245 N. 27th Street, Lincoln.
Burial at Fort McPherson Cemetery Monday 1/20/14 at 10:00am.
