NU Officials Want College to Be Possible for More

university-of-nebraska(AP) — University of Nebraska officials want more students to have the opportunity to attend college, so they are expanding their efforts to help.

NU President J.B. Milliken says the university is committed to providing affordable access to college.

The university plans to expand its offering of online courses, and offer more scholarships to low-income students.

The university will also try to contact all Nebraska middle school students to explain what they need to do to be ready for college.

And more low-income and first-generation college students will be invited to the university’s summer scholars programs on NU campuses. Those classes give students a taste of college coursework and help prepare them.
