
A North Platte man has been jailed on a felony charge after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend during an argument.
According to a North Platte Police Department news release, officers responded to the Rape and Domestic Abuse Office at around 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17.
Upon arrival, a 51-year-old female told officers that she and her boyfriend, 55-year-old Carlos Whitaker, had gotten into an argument the night before. She alleged that, during the argument, Whitaker had grabbed her and thrown her into a wall and some furniture. She was then able to flee the residence.
Officers determined that there was probable cause to arrest Whitaker.
He was contacted at his residence in the 800 block of S. Willow Street on Friday afternoon and placed under arrest.
Whitaker has been charged with felony 3rd degree assault, strangulation and two misdemeanor domestic assault charges.
He was jailed at the Lincoln County Detention Center.
