Dora L. Barrios, age 86 of North Platte, passed away at her home on Thursday January 23, 2014.
Dora was born on March 13, 1927 in Eaton, CO to Feliciano and Amalia (Leon) Soto. She lived in Limon, NE and worked in the fields with her family. Her mother passed away when Dora was very young. After her father passed away she moved with extended family to North Platte. On September 27, 1946 she married Raymond Domingus in Kansas. To this union 6 children were born, Gloria, Joyce, Raymond, Alex, Sam and Joe. She married Emilo “Tex” Barrios on June 19, 1970 in Ogallala, NE. She worked for Roger Groch for 31 years at his restaurants in North Platte. She loved to cook and watch her favorite tv program, Walker, Texas Ranger.
Dora is survived by her children Joyce (Ron) Kelley of North Platte, Sam Domingus of North Platte and Alex Domingus of Lincoln, NE; sister-in-law Ruth Soto of North Platte; brother-in-law Frank Cardenas of North Platte; 17 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands Raymond and “Tex”; daughter Gloria A. Domingus; sons Joe Domingus and Raymond Domingus; stepmother Jennie Paz; 2 grandchildren Jessica Domingus and Nathan Domingus; brothers Lee, Jess, Joe, Tommy, Walter and Henry; and sisters Rosie Cardenas and Antonia Rice.
Memorials may be made in her name and online condolences may be shared at www.adamsswanson.com. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday January 28, 2013 at the North Platte Berean Church with Pastor John Stone officiating. Burial will follow at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday noon until 6:00 p.m. and Monday 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
