Pauline Lutes, age 83 of Tryon, known as Pat by those who loved her, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday January 29, 2014.
Pat was born in Logan County, NE on January 13, 1931 to Clifford and Zina (Kee) Tiffany. She attended various country grade schools and graduated from Stapleton High School in 1948. She was united in marriage to Vernon Lutes, the love of her life, on June 27, 1948. To this union three children were born, Maynard Eldon, Connie Ann, and Karen Kay. She was a member of the Hall Church in rural McPherson County, NE. She loved the Lord and was active in her church, Sunday School and Vacation Bible School until her health no longer permitted it. She was a dedicated wife and loving mother.
Pauline is survived by Vernon, her husband of 65 years; her children Maynard (Susie) Lutes of Decatur, IL, Connie (Gerald) Pascetti of Hayden, CO, and Karen (Dennis) Licking of Tryon, NE; 12 grandchildren, Shelli (Robert) Smart, Julie (Jeff) Smothers, Brad (Heather) Lutes, Stephanie (Robert) Coins, Nicole Lutes, Matthew (Ingrid) Miner, Christopher Miner, Amy Miner, George Licking, Liz Licking, Anna Licking, Ruth Licking; 8 great grandchildren, Adam, Katie and Madison Smart, Kurt Shipman, Jordan Coins, Lucien and LaShawn Lutes and Jake Miner; sister Doris (Dean) Thompson; brother Wayne (Doris) Tiffany; brother and sister-in-laws Ernest Lutes, Joyce Lutes, Alice Lutes, Loren (Janis) Lutes, Inez (Jim) Fattig, Phoebe (Frank) Martin, Olive (Stan) Gurney, Esther (Tom) Harmon; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Zina Tiffany; her father and mother-in-law Louis and Ernestine Lutes; sister Lurene Zentz; brother and sister-in-laws Flora Connell, June Lutes, Susan and Al Shimmin, Nathan Lutes, Stephen Lutes, Martin Lutes and Keith Lutes.
A memorial has been established to Hall Church and online condolences may be shared at www.adamsswanson.com. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday February 1, 2014 at Ringgold Free Methodist Church with Reverend John Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Lonestar Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
