No. 8 (B) Gering 48 North Platte 45

The Dawgs lost a heart breaker on the road for the final day of the East-West Shootout, 48-45 to Gering. North Platte finishes the tournament 2-1. In the game Shane Mauch led the Dawgs with 11 points, Kade Erickson and Drew Callaghan each added 10.

Girls Basketball

North Platte 56 Gering 23

The Lady Dawgs go 3-0 in the East-West Shootout to improve to 13-9 on the season. North Platte’s closest game in the shootout was a 23-point win over Alliance.

Friday, February 14

Boys Basketball

North Platte 53 No. 10 (B) Scottsbluff 50

Kade Erickson led the Dawgs with 16 points as North Platte improved to 2-0 in the East-West Shootout. Shane Mauch scored 12 points and Drew Callaghan had 10 as well for the Bulldogs. North Platte wraps up the East-West Shootout on Saturday at Gering.

Tanner Borchardt scored 15 points and Collin Hahn was also in double-figures with 11 points for the Swedes in the loss.

The Lady Dawgs improve to 2-0 in the East-West Shootout with a dominant win over the Lady Bearcats.

Mady Vogel led the way with 12 points for the Lady Swedes in the win.

Thursday, February 13

Boys Basketball

North Platte 63 Alliance 44

The Dawgs got off to a 10-0 start en route to the 19-point win over Alliance on Thursday. It was North Platte’s first game of the 2014 version of the East-West Shootout and Kade Erickson led the way with a game-high 19 points. Shane Mauch and Drew Callaghan were also in double-figures with 14 points apiece. The win snapped a five-game losing streak for North Platte.

The Lady Dawgs snapped a five-game losing streak with a big win over Alliance in the East-West Shootout.

No. 3 (D1) St. Patrick’s 28 No. 5 (C1) Hershey 22

The third time is a charm for the Lady Irish. Hershey won the first two match ups of the season, but St. Pat’s won Thursday’s low scoring affair.
