(AP) — A former Grand Island firefighter has pleaded guilty to receiving and distributing child pornography.

Fifty-year-old Mark Fhuere entered the plea on Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Lincoln. Prosecutors say the crime was committed between May 2, 2011 and May 29, 2013.

Fhuere is scheduled to be sentenced on May 13. He faces up to 20 years in prison.

Fhuere resigned his position as a firefighter-paramedic with the Grand Island Fire Department on May 31 last year. He’d worked for the department since 1996.
