(AP) — A 35-year-old Lincoln man who used a forklift to steal an ATM has been sentenced to prison.
Online court records say Gabriel Muratella made a deal with prosecutors and pleaded no contest to a theft charge and guilty to a charge of fleeing to avoid arrest. Prosecutors dropped two other charges in exchange for Muratella’s pleas.
Muratella was given five to 10 years for the theft and a year on the other charge. The sentences are to be served consecutively.
Prosecutors say Muratella and another man used the forklift on Feb. 28 last year to take the ATM from a Cornhusker Bank branch in Lincoln and load it into a stolen pickup.
