William E. Burrious, 77, of North Platte, passed away Feb. 21, 2014 at Great Plains Regional Medical Center. He was born Sept. 5, 1936, the oldest child of Percy E. and Elvera M. (Kuck) Burrious at Hale, CO. He was in the National Guard for nine years from 1954 to 1963. Bill worked for Conley-Detlefsen for many years, first at the Skelly Station on Rodeo Road then moving to the interstate location. He later worked at Allen’s Self Service in the sporting goods department. He then became disabled and had to quit working. Bill was an avid hunter and he hunted even when he had to use a walker and later a wheel chair. He is survived by his sister, Shirley Nelsen of North Platte; nephews, Kelly (Lisa) Nelsen of North Platte, Richard Burrious of Minneapolis, MN, Bobby Burrious of Beaver City, NE; nieces, Jody Halcott, Elora (Blaine) Kreiling both of North Platte and Rebecca Volmer of Garland, TX. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Eilert “Ike” Burrious and an infant sister. Online condolences may be shared at www.carpentermemorial.com. Cremation was chosen.
