(AP) — A 28-year-old Lincoln man has been sentenced to nearly six years in federal prison for receiving child pornography.
U.S. Attorney Deborah Gilg says Kristopher Tibbs was sentenced Friday in Lincoln’s federal court to 5 1/2 years for one count. Following his release from prison, Tibbs must serve a five-year term of supervised release and register as a sex offender.
There is no parole in the federal prison system.
Prosecutors say Lincoln police discovered that Tibbs was sharing child pornography images from his computer via the Internet. A search of his computer turned up more than 170 videos depicting sexually explicit conduct of children under the age of 18.
