A North Platte man has been jailed on a felony charge stemming from a November investigation.
On November 18, 2013, officers with the North Platte Police Department made contact with 32-year-old Jonas Luea at his home.
According to an NPPD news release, officers were investigating a complaint that drugs were being used around a 6-year-old child who resided in the home.
During the investigation, officers located suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia inside the residence.
The evidence was sent to the Nebraska State Patrol Laboratory for testing, and the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services was contacted to ensure the safety of the child.
Recently, the lab results were returned and showed the suspected drugs had tested positive for methamphetamine.
On March 15, 2014, an officer contacted Luea and informed him of the results.
Luea agreed to meet the officer, at which time he was placed under arrest and charged with possession of methamphetamine.
Luea was processed at the Lincoln County Detention Center.
Police did not comment any further on the status of the child.
