A North Platte woman is in jail after police contacted her twice in a four-day period for smoking marijuana in her apartment.
According to Officer Rodney Brown, officers responded to South Platte Terrace Apartments, 722 East Philip, at around 10:30 a.m. on Monday after receiving a report of the smell of burning marijuana emitting from an apartment.
Officers determined the source of the herbal smell was the apartment of 19-year-old Rebecca Hall. They attempted to make contact with Hall, but were unsuccessful.
A search warrant was obtained for the apartment, and it was executed at around 11:40 a.m.
During the search, officers located drug paraphernalia commonly used to smoke marijuana and prescription pills that were identified as Oxycontin.
Hall was located and summoned to the Police Department for questioning.
Following further investigation, Hall was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance-Oxycontin, a Class IV felony.
Brown said officers had also made contact with Hall on March 13 for smoking weed in her apartment. On that occasion, she was cited for possession of marijuana-less than one ounce.
She was jailed at the Lincoln County Detention Center.
