An investigation into the November 2013 death of a 20-month old boy has led to the arrest of two Broken Bow women on charges of Second Degree Murder and Child Abuse Leading to the Death of a Child.
On Sunday, November 17, 2013, Noah J. Pryce, 20 months, of Broken Bow, was transported by ambulance to Jennie M. Melham Medical Center in Broken Bow. At that time the Broken Bow Police were notified that a head injury sustained by the toddler was suspicious in nature. After being transferred by medical helicopter first to Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney and then to the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha, Noah Pryce died of his injuries on November 22, 2013.
On November 24, the Nebraska State Patrol became the lead agency in the continuing investigation into the death of Noah Pryce. Through the investigative process it was determined the toddler suffered a life threatening injury on Sunday, November 17, while in the care of Brittney Pryce and Diane Hill. Brittney Pryce and her husband Richard Pryce were the guardians of Noah Pryce who was a ward of the State of Nebraska. The investigation concluded the injuries suffered by the toddler occurred at the Pryce home, 1338 South E Street, in Broken Bow.
Brittney Pryce,23, and Diane Hill, 50, were taken into custody on March 25, 2014, and were lodged into the Custer County Jail on charges of Second Degree Murder and Child Abuse Leading to the Death of a Child, both Class IB Felonies.
