A North Platte man and woman are facing assault charges after they allegedly launched an attack on two females.
According to Officer Rodney Brown, officers responded to the report of an assault in the 400 block of East 10th Street at around 12:45 a.m. on Monday.
Upon arrival, a 26-year-old female told officers that 26-year-old Jessica Martin and 25-year-old Thomas Keefer came to her residence wanting an item of clothing returned.
She said that Martin and Keefer then attacked her and another 21-year-old female.
According to the victim, Martin rushed at her, slammed her against a car and punched her in the face multiple times. She said when her friend attempted to intervene, Keefer pulled her by the hair. Then Martin allegedly turned her attack on her and began striking her repeatedly.
Following further investigation, officers determined that there was probable cause to arrest Martin for two counts of 3rd degree assault and felony strangulation, and Keefer for 3rd degree assault.
Both were incarcerated at the Lincoln County Detention Center.
